Wandering the Dells at the Willow Lake one evening with the intention to capture the setting sun on the rocks, racing with time, absorbed in a plein air painting, I turned around and saw a completely new face of the Dells. There was a Full Moon on the rise in front of me at the Glassford Hill with the Sun setting behind me, and the rocks aglow with both the fading sunlight and the waxing moonlight!
“Full Moon Dells” was created on 1-1/2″ canvas, with the painting continued around the edges.
