Monthly Archives: March 2014

Our current Monday model is Debbie. Middle aged but what courage a person has to go and model specially at that age. I really appreciate these models but Debbie I have real appreciation for as someone who is not intomidated but external beauty which makes her internal beauty show more.

I painted her from two angles. Though I haven’t finished both of them (I have one more session left with her, ) here are the efforts. Both done in a different style and from different angles. What do you think?

I just came back from a  workshop with Eric Merrell at Anza Borrego Desert State Part, CA. It was an amazing experience to be in this insanely beautiful and harsh place. Heat, wind and darkness for nocturnes. WE were at it all day and night upto 10pm for 3 whole days. So much fun!

Here a few paintings from the workshop that I finished…

Yet another attempt at this beautiful mountain in my backyard. This is the first painting after I came back from Eric Merrell’s workshop in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park, CA. What a beautiful place, so inspiring! I will be posting the paintings from the workshop too. Not my favorites as in a complete body of work, but a lot of learning and internalizing. Now I have to put it into practice. oil, 8″ x 10″

This Saturday our model was M’Lynn again. I have drawn her three times now and she does really well. /she knows her “stuff”. Gives us good poses from every angle and some foreshortened poses. So here are some drawings… Enjoy!

On another note, My Monday morning model cancelled for yesterday so I have my painting sitting undone. Not sure if she’ll be able to sit for us again… 🙁
