On the trail behind my house, scrambling through cat’s claw, shrub oaks, pinion pines etc. one suddenly comes upon a huge settlement of Ponderosa Pines. They are magnificent, tall, lean, and towering; being beneath the canopy of these trees with the sky peeking through, making the myriad of shapes is breathtaking!
Prescott is said to have some of the biggest groves of Ponderosa Pines.
