I painted this image of sunset at Grand Teton National Park, when the last light was dividing the range in two. One peak still held the sun, glowing a deep, molten gold, while its neighbor had already slipped into shadow, cool and blue against the fading sky. Between them, the lake simply shone, a bright, silvered white. What drew me to this moment was that contrast, fire and quiet, held together in a single frame.
