Looking East-Winter-5pm

Another one from the gorgeous view that you get when you climb up the hill behind our house. It just about a 360 degree panoramic view. From Bill Williams mountain in the north to the San Francisco peaks at the base of which Flagstaff is situated.…

Granite Mountain Again

Another view of the mountain. I picked a spot where these really soft and fluffy looking plants were growing right in front of it. The interesting thing about them was how they glowed against the drab winter landscape. 10" x 8" oil on gessoed…

Moonrise

A very quick, perhaps a 15-20 minute painting, en plein air, trying to catch the colors of dusk with a full moon rising. It was an amazing evening. You could see the bands of colors in the sky rising out of the earth. 8"x10" oil on panel

Looking North from Prescott, you can see the Bill Williams mountain due north. A Lovely view indeed. I have to hike up the hill behind my house and oh it's a 360 degree panoramic view! Partly cloudy with sun and shade playing games today…

Evening Glow, Day 1, 30 in 30

So hey... Here is another 30 in 30!  Should I say I am excited or overwhelmed? Reworking my whole website which has been taking me way more time than I expected. And I am starting the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge, hosted by Leslie Saeta. Plein…

Boulders and wipe-downs…

I wiped down two paintings the other day...one after the other. One I hiked out for 1.5 miles lugging all my paint gear. Did a painting, but hated it so much that I wiped it fown and packed up and left. Then I did a nocturne, which I wiped out…
